This page walks through every feature in the reader using the actual thing — not screenshots. Everything below is live: tap it, hold it, drag it. Once it clicks, jump into the song library and try it on a real song.
Tap a word
Tap any word below to show or hide its pinyin and English meaning. Try it — nothing happens until you tap.
Press and hold for the full definition
A quick tap toggles the gloss. Press and hold instead, and a popup opens with the full dictionary entry, its HSK level, and buttons to hear it pronounced — at normal or slow speed. Try holding down 长按 below (it means "long press").
Save words as you go
Inside that popup, tap the star to save a word — it'll fly into your saved list and sync across any device you're signed into. This demo saves locally only, just to show you the motion; your real saves live in the actual reader.
Your saved list opens the same popup
This part's easy to miss: your saved words aren't just a flat list to glance at — press and hold any entry in it, same as you would a word in the lyrics, and the exact same popup opens back up. Full definition, pronunciation, your personal note, all of it, right from your saved list. Try holding down either entry below.
Control how much shows automatically
The Glosses slider in Settings sets a threshold — words at or below that HSK level stay hidden by default, since you're assumed to already know them; anything above it shows automatically. Drag it and watch the line below react. There are also two separate switches in Settings — pinyin and word translation — if you'd rather turn one of them off entirely regardless of level, for example hiding pinyin once you don't need it anymore while keeping the word-by-word glosses on.
Colors show difficulty
Every word is colored by its HSK level — the further right on this key, the more advanced. "Beyond" means it's outside the official 9-level system entirely (slang, proper nouns, very literary vocabulary).
The translation is always underneath
Below every line sits the actual line-by-line translation — the real, singable rendering, distinct from the word-by-word glosses above it. You can turn it off with the "lyrics translation" switch in Settings if you'd rather work it out yourself first. On a real song page, if that song has timestamps, clicking the translation jumps the video straight to that moment — a quick way to hear exactly how a line sounds.
Connected words get underlined
Some grammar patterns split across words that aren't next to each other — like 在……之前 ("before"), where other words sit in between. Those get a matching colored underline. Press and hold either one to see how they connect.
Finding songs
Back in the library, every artist, year, and tag is clickable — tap one and the library filters to everything matching it. Sort by newest, alphabetical, year, or difficulty using the dropdown up top.
